The first autonomous driving road test license obtained in the system of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and universities and research institutions in Guangdong Province. On January 5, the autonomous driving team of the Automotive Electronics Center of the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences announced that the team has recently passed the comprehensive review of experts at the Joint Meeting of the Shenzhen Municipal Transportation Commission, and won the Shenzhen Passenger Vehicle Award issued by the Shenzhen Traffic Police Brigade. Open road test license plate for self-driving car.
“After obtaining the public road test license, our autonomous vehicles will conduct public road tests of intelligent connected vehicles in 19 public areas designated by the Shenzhen Municipal Transportation Commission as planned”, Researcher Li Huiyun, Director of the Automotive Electronics Center of Shenzhen Advanced Institute Express.
In 2016, the team of the Automotive Electronics Center of Shenzhen Advanced Institute began to develop autonomous driving technology, and carried out independent research and development of key technology modules such as perception, decision-making, planning, control, and wire-controlled chassis. In the process of development and testing, in view of the shortcomings of the current autonomous driving test methods, the team proposed a plan to independently develop a bench test system, and launched the first bench test system in 2018.
In July 2020, the team’s autonomous driving solution completed 10 projects with a total of 36 scenarios and 120 tests in the Shenzhen Intelligent Networked Traffic Test Demonstration Zone, and successfully completed the 1,000-kilometer road test phase to test the overall stability of the vehicle’s operation; 2020 In August 2019, the team submitted an application for an “open road test license” to the Shenzhen Municipal Government, and passed the expert review meeting; in December 2020, the Shenzhen Municipal Transportation Commission Joint Meeting jointly reviewed the team’s application and issued a road test notice for autonomous driving book, and obtained the public road test license issued by the Shenzhen Traffic Police Brigade.
In the next step, the team will continue to focus on the technical framework composed of autonomous driving technology, virtual simulation test technology, power-in-the-loop test bench and the Internet of Vehicles to further improve the efficiency of the core algorithm. At the same time, it will cooperate with many parties to establish a test bench-based test Standards and processes to promote the development of the autonomous driving industry.
At present, the team has completed relevant technology incubation and established Zhongke Testing (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., focusing on providing system solutions for test bench equipment for intelligent networked vehicles.
