Foundry leader TSMC announced on the 26th that it will launch N4P process technology, which has become a performance-enhanced version of the 5-nanometer technology platform, and has joined the industry’s most advanced and broadest advanced process technology family. With N5, N4, N3 and the latest N4P process, TSMC provides a diverse and powerful technology portfolio to help customers achieve product power consumption, efficiency, area and cost advantages.

TSMC pointed out that as the third major enhanced version of its 5nm family, the performance of N4P is 11% faster than the original N5 and 6% faster than N4. Compared with N5 and N4P, the power consumption efficiency is increased by 22%, and the transistor density is increased by 6%. At the same time, N4P reduces process complexity and improves chip production cycle by reducing the number of mask layers. N4P demonstrates the results of TSMC’s continuous pursuit and investment in improving process technology.TSMC emphasizes that customers often invest valuable resources to develop new silicon intellectual property, architecture, and other innovative methods for their products. The N4P process technology design can easily transfer products based on the 5-nanometer process, allowing customers to make better use of existing resources and provide faster and more energy-efficient next-generation products for their N5 products.
